It's been a minute

I hate how much time has passed between my last post and now. Between moving and working...I got busy. Here I am though! Hoping to catch up some :)

Me at my job

Dr. Martin and myself at his retirement breakfast. I adore him!

We got a new dog. His name is Carson :)

That is some of the new stuff that has been going on. I will get more pics up as soon as I can! :)

29. Happy Birthday!

My baby girls turned 3 today! I can't believe how fast they grow up. I remember them when they were just little premature babies and now they are healthy 3 year old girls! Happy Birthday to my sweet munks!

25th-28th Catching Up

The picture above is the set of keys my husband has to carry around for work. There are around 40 keys on this multiple key ring. I know it may sound strange, but I feel like this set of keys. I relate to these keys because they reflect the chaos and hectiness of life. As a mom, I feel like most all of us can relate to that. The feeling of always having something to do...clean the house, fix dinner, bathe the kids, etc.

*I hate that I have not been able to post pictures like I want to. My camera is able to take pictures, but it is taped together and has been a bit difficult.

24. We walk by faith, not by sight.

The picture above could be perceived to be anything. Last Monday, I flew into my hometown for my grandfather's funeral. While in the air, I was taking various pictures. While I was looking around, I saw a rainbow in the shape of a circle. I thought maybe it was the glare off of the window. I moved around to see if I could still see it. Sure enough it was there! Looking further into it, I could see a bright figure in the center that was moving around like it was running or dancing. It was the most beaufitul thing I have seen in a long time! I don't know what some may have believed it was, but I choose to believe it was a glimpse into Heaven.

16th-23rd

I haven't posted anything though because I have been out of town. My grandfather passed away a week ago. He has been like a father to me my whole life. I miss him so much and know that he is in a better place where he is with my mom and grandma! My grandpa has been my hero...my protector...my friend. I am so thankful for him!

13-14-15 Little Luxuries

I am using this post for days 13, 14, and 15. Not only because my camera has still been broken but because for 3 days this has been what has been happening. Earlier this week our city had a major water line bust. 75% of the city didn't have running water. The citizens that were able to get water were under a boil advisory or was told not to use the water. Was this inconvenient? Yes! However, we are a country that is blessed to have clean water flowing through our faucets. We are a country that has indoor plumbing and the luxury of washing our hands, our bodies, in clean water. So yes, this week has been trying when it came to needing to brush my teeth. But this week has reminded me that often the little luxuries in life are overlooked and taken for granted.

12. Believing In The Unseen

My camera is still being worked on, but oh do I have memories from today. Upon pulling up to the daycare this morning, both of my girls told me that mammaw was by the fence. 6 months ago I would have laughed it off and called my mom and told her. However, my mom passed away 2 months ago. I believe that children are innocent and are the closest thing to God. They are pure and haven't been stained by the ways of the world yet. I think that they are able to see things that we as adults don't, or can't, see. I believe that we are protected and watched over by those who have gone before us. Even if I couldn't see my mom today by the fence, I am glad my girls got to see their mammaw. I am glad that she lives in our hearts and memories.

11. Clumsiness

There is no photo because of my clumsiness. I dropped my camera and broke it. That is my memory for the day I suppose! LOL Until I can get my camera fixed or get another one, I will post a memory from that day.

10. Making Time For The Small Things

This is the first time my daughter, Rayne, made a snow angel. It was so cute! She was so excited to make angels! I love this picture. It reminds me to make time for the little things in life!

9. Silly Faces

The picture above is of my daughter Chloe. She is so silly! In fact, she likes to be called "Princess Goofy Kid". I love this photo because it catches her personality. One day she will be a "big girl" and I can look back at just how silly she was (and hopefully will still be)!

8. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

This picture isn't a new one. It is a new to me one. This is a picture of my mom in June 2010. She and my step-dad took the girls to the aquarium. She had just gotten news that there was nothing more they could do for her cancer. We quickly made a trip to Georgia to see her and spend time with her while my husband was home on R&R. After he left to go back, the girls and I moved to GA where we lived with them until her passing in November. When I see this picture I have both a happy and a sad memory. I am sad because I remember this being a time when there wasn't much more they could do. She fought so hard and traveled to different doctors to get other options. I am happy though because she was healthy enough at this time to take her grandbabies to the aquarium. She was so excited to see them and spend time with them. I wish I had more time with her.

7. Decisions

My memory with this photo isn't that it is a new car. It is that for the first time in a very long time, my husband was with me to make this big decision. Since becoming an Army wife, I have been the one who has made most all of the major decisions. Our communication has been via phone, skype, or IM with several of our important choices.

6. Beauty

The picture above is of a piece that is in our bedroom. I was drawn to this picture because of how serene her face is. I thought it was beautiful.

5. Friends are the family we choose

I have been blessed to have amazing family and friends in my life. The picture above is of 2 of my friends, Lenay and Hannah. The kids pictured are mine and Lenay's. My friends mean so very much to me.  I wish I had a picture with all of the people I have been blessed to call friends.

4. Isaiah 41:10

Tomorrow will mark 2 months since my mother has passed away. The picture above is of her Bible. She was a very religious and spiritual person. A true child of God, she witnessed up until the very end. I miss her more than I can put into words. The Bible is opened up to her favorite verse which brings me to the photo below:

"Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand."~ Isaiah 41:10

3. Thankful

This is a simple picture of a Korea Veteran key chain. I had bought it years ago to give to my grandpa who is a veteran of the Korean war. I had forgotten about it in between everything else that was going on. This picture symbolizes so much to me. My grandpa was like a father to me. He was a brave man who feared nothing. He fought for our freedoms and earned a Purple Heart during the war. My grandpa is in advanced alzheimers now and doesn't remember much these days. When I see this key chain, I see my grandpa. The healthy man who came to my rescue everytime I needed him. The man who took me to get Krystals after school. The man who shared his stories, and the shirt off his back if needed, with everyone. I am so thankful for him.

2. Quality Not Quanity

I love this picture of Chloe wrapped around Junior as Rayne puts her "lipstick" on. It reminds me that it is the quality, not the quanity, of time you spend with loved ones that matter.

1.My wish for you

My beautiful baby girls painting first thing in the morning. My wish for them is that they always find happiness in the simple things in life.
